Just Pop It In The Basket

I love a bit of online shopping, don't you?

Shopping local is still my favourite though!

I have always loved shopping online, it's my next favourite thing to shopping in local shops, and with local businesses - that is my very favourite!

During lock-down this has become an even greater hobby! I tried where absolutely possible to buy local - I supported all our local shops in Doune and surrounding areas as much as possible - it was great however it wasn't reciprocal because I was closed!

When I can't get things I needed locally, I love to resort to my keyboard from the comfort of home (especially now) and peruse the lovely things I can buy and even then I will look for small businesses before giving an order to the giants!

It's possible to shop online and still support small local businesses!

So, I thought, what if people could buy lovely skincare online and still support my small business?

I applied to Eve Taylor for the permission to have a web shop. As we only sell through trained salons and spas, it is very important for them to keep everything in line with their brand - this is one of the things I love about Eve Taylor London - you can't buy it from department stores, or Amazon, or eBay - it is exclusive to people trained in skin!

Finding a skincare brand that suits your skin as well as your ethical values can be a tough job however I have found this with Eve Taylor London.

Online Shopping Has Arrived!

I have built my own Online Shop and I can't begin to tell you how excited I am about it! Granted, the plans have been in the offing since early in lock-down, however you know how it is, you think you have so much time ...........

Boris and Nicola gave us only slightly longer to get our businesses back open than they did to close them, and so before I knew it, I was so full steam ahead into prep for re-opening that my website project was thrown to the side again!

Then, on a complete whim at 11.30pm on Tuesday evening, the decision was made - I am doing it now - I am going to make that shop! I crawled into bed at 4am and the deed was done! You see, the team at Eve Taylor London had done most of the work for me - they had given me a file with all the required data including images and all I needed to do was tweak it a little to fit my web hosting software and boom! It was done!

Eve Taylor London don't only make amazing skincare, they have an amazing team who fully support their therapists - that is why I love them!

What is for sale in my awesome online store?

Eve Taylor London is the most beautiful, sustainable skincare brand I have ever used, and believe me, I have used many! I use this brand in all of my treatments at Fiona Dalziel Holistic Therapy and I wanted to share my love for this brand with a wider audience.

This doesn't stop people asking advice - I actively encourage potential customers to get in touch to discuss their skincare concerns prior to purchasing so that I can offer advice and give recommendations based on my experience and knowledge of skincare and our lovely products.

What do I use on my skin?

Since I was about 30 I have been preparing for wrinkles, however since I was blessed

with my father's skin (which I complained about when I was a greasy teenager), and not my mum's seriously dry skin, the years have been kind to me!

Don't get me wrong, there are a few "laughter lines" however, I am really happy with my skin! From spotty teenager who's forehead was like a relief map of the Himalayas, I have come a long way! A lot of this is to do with genes but also due to lots of water (I now drink more than 3 litres a day) and a good skincare regime!

At the moment, since my job is "hot stuff" (try doing massage wearing a mask and a visor) I am not wearing any make-up to work whatsoever to avoid "mascne" as it has now been aptly names and so far, so good! Not even my trademark pink lipstick and my beloved mascara.

Who has been caught out with your lipstick smeared all over your face from the mask? It happened to me quite early on in the mask wearing and it wasn't attractive however very funny for some! (you will remain nameless Nicola!)

Cleansing

I normally remove my make up with my ENJO eye pads, and tepid water. That's it! Even if I am not wearing make up, I will still give my face a cleanse with my eye pad or face mitt to take off the day, or the night - this is just an important a routine in the morning!

I then will go on to my second cleanse, my "go to" cleanser is the new and absolutely fabulous Eve Taylor Age Resist Dynamic Resurfacing Cleanser - this is a Lactic Acid complex with Geranium which exfoliates and renews the surface of my skin, defending against the impending aging, and it leaves my skin fresh, soft and luminous. It's soap free, so won't dry out your skin. On top of all that, it smells devine! I apply it with my hands and remove it with my ENJO pad and tepid water (saves buying and disposing of cotton wool!)

Exfoliating

I exfoliate my face once a week! It's usually my Sunday late afternoon/early evening ritual! I use Eve Taylor Resurfacing Cream Exfoliant (previously Active Complex Exfoliant)

This is a leave-on and wash off exfoliant so no scrubbing or friction - it is creamy textured with fruity acids to help remove surface skin build up! In fact, I have mine on now whilst I type this! My skin always feels silky smooth after removing it - again I remove it with my ENJO pad!

Masque

Once a week, usually the same day as I exfoliate, I apply Eve Taylor London Anti-Oxidant Masque - again, this smells devine! It helps restore suppleness and essential hydration to your skin.

It is a creamy masque that is full of vitamin rich botanicals. It is packed full of good for skin ingredients that will resist the signs of aging and help your skin function healthily. It is the best masque I have ever used!

Serum

Serum is a really important part of your skincare regime! A serum can be applied to your skin after cleansing but before moisturising with the intent of delivering powerful ingredients directly into the skin.

Serum is particularly suited to this task because it is made up of smaller molecules that can penetrate deeply into the skin and deliver a very high concentration of active ingredients.

This makes them a great tool for targeting specific skincare concerns, like wrinkles. Goodbye, signs of aging!

I use two serums - one in the morning and a different one in the evening.

In the morning I use the Eve Taylor London Firming Serum (this used to be called Q10 serum) to support and strengthen the collagen in my skin, however in the evening I use Eve Taylor Rejuvenating Aromatic Serum (No 6) to support the needs of my post-menopausal skin, which is packed with clary sage, galbanium and patchouli to reinforce the suppleness of your skin and the nourishing argan, evening primrose and rosehip seed oils nurture my lipid depleted skin. It is like a magic potion and like all of our products was developed by Eve Taylor herself, however this one has been her very own ace card up until recently when she shared it with us all! That's why, even in her 80's, Eve has fantastic skin!

Eve Taylor OBE, looking amazing at 84 years young!

Toner

At Eve Taylor, we use our toner after our serum to boost the benefits of your serum - it should be spritzed onto your skin to dampen it and not removed. I currently use the Eve Taylor Balancing Toner with Rose Otto and Neroli - it hydrates the skin and reduces dehydration whilst keeping you looking refreshed - you can also spray this over your make up throughout the day to refresh your skin - the aroma is reassuring and will uplift your senses - this is my favourite product!

Eye Cream

Nourishing Eye Complex is next! This lovely potion is packed with anti-imflammatory and anti-oxident properties and botanicals to target dark circles, puffiness and fine lines - you only need a tiny amount (about the size of a grain of rice) on your ring fingers and dot around under the eye and around the brow bones!

Moisturiser

Moisturiser - at last! Writing this blog makes it feel like it takes me ages to complete my skincare regime every day however it actually takes no time at all! It is however worth every moment!

Again with moisturiser, I use a different cream in the morning and at night.

In the morning I apply Eve Taylor Age Resist Day Cream SPF30. The solar protection is very important and defends against damaging UV in turn reducing the signs of aging. At bed-time I use Eve Taylor Age Resist Night Cream - this is richer and more nourishing that the day cream to assist with the skin's regenerative abilities.

I also apply Eve Taylor Replenishing Neck Cream to my neck and decollete before I put on my moisturiser - this helps avoid that "chicken" neck look and provides specific moisture and protection! Your neck is very important - there is nothing worse than looking after your face and avoiding the neck and decollete area!

Lips

The final touch is Seal & Protect Moisturising Lip Balm SPF10 - I apply this before I put my lipstick on, and every night before bed however also have one in my coat pocket for when out walking in the sun and the wind, and one in the car (especially in the winter) as the heater/air conditioning is not great for your skin and worse for your lips!

Skin Profiling & Consultations

For local people, hopefully we will be able to carry out Skin Profiling and Consultations before too long, however for now, and for those that live further afield, I am always delighted to have a Zoom call with individuals to discuss their skin concerns and help to match the correct products to your skin!

Choosing the Right Products for You

Looking after your skin is not cheap, however it needn't cost the earth - literally.

Spend time finding out what is good for you, but don't change all at once - use up what you have in the house, unless it is causing you skin problems.

Also ensure that your products are in date. Out of date, or products that have been opened for a long time will not benefit your skin as advertised! Look for a little open lid on your products (like the one in the picture on the right - in it will be a number - this is how many months it should be open for!

What will you do?

I ensure my skin looks it's best everyday - it doesn't take long and I spend far less now that I used to when I scoured the counters in leading department stores getting my hands on all the latest hypes, lotions and potions.

I promise you, you will look better and be better off shopping local, even if it is online!

Much love,

Fiona
